Various Federal Agencies require state-of-the-art messaging solutions that use
COTS products to replace legacy or older electronic mail systems. These newer
systems must meet unique agency requirements while providing a secure, business
grade messaging capability (i.e. timely, guaranteed delivery; precedence and
priority handling; confidentiality; authentication; non-repudiation; etc.). A
central repository, embodied in one of various directory products used to store
and exchange messaging and security information such as certificates,
addresses, and user capabilities, is also required when providing a fully
integrated solution. Interoperability between Government and Commercial
sectors, as well as among the various Government agencies, is critical.

The Van Dyke Technology
Group (VDTG) provides expert services in the requirements definition,
architecture design/development, security integration, and implementation
planning for enterprise-wide messaging systems - particularly those employed
within the Federal workspace.
-
VDTG engineers defined
the architecture for the IC’s secure messaging and directory services, and
continue in its implementation.
-
VDTG engineers address
traditional messaging capabilities, but also consider emerging capabilities,
such as web based technology, instant messaging, XML transfer, and
middleware messaging protocols.
-
VDTG personnel continue
to participate in the standards and prototype development of secure,
business grade, messaging and directory components.
-
VDTG has the knowledge
to architect internal organizational messaging and directory solutions as well
as large, enterprise infrastructure solutions.
-
VDTG is expert at
transitioning legacy systems to state-of-the-art, secure, messaging and
directory technologies.
-
VDTG engineers have
been specifically instrumental in the evolution and development of the
Defense Message System, supporting organizations within DoD and the
Intelligence Community.
-
VDTG engineers continue
to play the principle role in the development of DMS within the Intelligence
Community (IC)
